Andhra Pradesh education system redefined

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will complete his three-year tenure on May 30, 2022. YS Jagan is a popular leader who has cemented his place in the hearts of the masses. Before coming to power, the leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress (YSRCP) party promised the people of the state that his party would bring about revolutionary changes to cleanse the system of large-scale corruption and irregularities that reigned under the TDP regime. True to his words, the YSR Congress leader delivered on most of the promises made in the election manifesto. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has become an undisputed leader and his government leaves no stone unturned to ensure the welfare of the people of the state.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chairman of the YSRCP, who made his political debut in 2009, has come a long way. He became a leader of the people with his padayatra “Praja Sankalpa Yatra” in 2017. Through his interactions with people during the walkathon, the leader of YSRCP could feel the pulse of an ordinary man and he quickly became a leader powerful and popular politician to reckon with. In less than a decade, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has built a political party that won an overwhelming majority in the 2019 National Assembly elections. On May 30, 2019, Thursday, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn in of office and secrecy as the second chief minister of Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation.

Since taking office, Chief Minister YS Jagan has strived to uplift all sections of society. The YSRCP government has offered a host of welfare programs for the people of the state. Andhra Pradesh is also focusing on improving the education system. The state government has introduced revolutionary changes to strengthen and improve the education system in public schools. YS Jagan once said, “A seed sown today will reap fruit in 20 years. A child admitted to a public school today will face any competition and challenge the best after 20 years. This is our mission. The YSR Congress Supremo believes that education is a game-changer as it would help reduce poverty. As part of government reforms in the education sector, bilingual textbooks are provided to students. In addition, the CBSE program was delivered in schools.

Here are some programs implemented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for the comprehensive development of students.

Amma Vodi:

Under the Amma Vodi program, the government provides financial assistance to every mother or recognized guardian in the absence of a mother, who is below the poverty line, regardless of caste, creed and religion to send their children to public schools. The program will benefit nearly 43 lakh mothers or guardians annually. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has pledged to ease the financial concerns of every single mother in the state who wants her child to have access to a better education through the Amma Vodi scheme. Because he believes education is the greatest asset parents can give their children.

Introduction of the English medium:

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also introduced English as the language of instruction in public schools. The main objective behind the introduction of this concept is to help poor parents who cannot afford private education for their wards. Recently we saw the result of this government initiative when a group of students from Bendapudi Zilla Parishad High School in Thondangi mandal of East Godavari district met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and interacted with him in fluent English . After interacting with the students, the Chief Minister said that the implementation of English in public schools is proving to be a successful program and he expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the improved standards of education. education in public schools on the same basis as company schools. The YSR Congress government is committed to providing quality education to public school students. Teacher training is also provided to government teachers in a systematic way and teachers take the Cambridge assessment test to improve their English skills.

Schools were categorized into six categories under the NEP, from PP-1 to Grade 12. Under this classification, satellite schools will offer PP-1, PP-2; Basic schools offering PP-1, PP-2, class 1 and 2; Foundation Plus schools offering PP-1, PP-2 and grades 1-5; Pre-high schools teaching PP-1, PP-2 and grades 1-7; High Schools from grades 3-10 and High School Plus from grades 3-12.

Jagananna Goru Buddha:

The government of Andhra Pradesh has launched Jagananna Goru Muddha and this program focuses on issues of lack of nutrition, food security and access to education. Under this scheme, free lunch is provided to children in primary and upper primary grades from government, government, local STC bodies, madrasas and maqtabs i.e. supported by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan ( SSA) during school working days.

Jagananna Vidya Kanuka:

In 2020, Jagan Mohan Reddy started a program for school children which is called Jagananna Vidya Kanuka. Under this program, the government will distribute Vidya Kanuka kits to all students in grades I to X. The kits will contain three pairs of uniforms, one pair of shoes, two pairs of socks, a belt, a set of textbooks and notebooks, and a satchel. The government believes that the program will improve education standards and reduce the school dropout rate.

Nadu Nedu:

Mana Badi Nadu Nedu Scheme is also another education oriented scheme which was launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on November 14, 2019 to improve facilities in schools. Under the Nadu Nedu program, the government has supported the development of the following issues: drinking water supply, toilets with continuous water supply, fans and tube lights for each room, green board, English laboratory, etc.

Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena:

The Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena regimes ushered in the revolutionary changes. The government of Andhra Pradesh launched Vidya Deevena to encourage students from poor economic backgrounds to pursue higher education. Under the Vidya Deevena program, the government will reimburse a student’s full fees, which includes tuition, special fees, and examination fees. While the Vasathi Deevena program reimburses boarding and accommodation fees for students.
