The “Kumon” program, a home-schooling system, will be introduced in the ICT Division’s 300 “schools of the future” by next year, the Minister of State for ICT said today, Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

The Kumon, an education network created by Japanese national Toru Kumon, aims to develop students’ academic ability and independence.

Kumon’s materials incorporate methods for introducing new content in a way that allows students to learn without being directly taught even after passing grade level.

Palak was speaking during the award ceremony among the Kumon Gold Medalists at the Brac CDM Center in Birulia de Savar.

Minister of State for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki and BRAC Executive Director Asif Saleh were present at the event.
