Karnataka minister stresses need for changes in education system

Calling the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) a game changer, Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh said more changes are underway to streamline and orient the education system towards development .

“After learning about rampant malnutrition among schoolchildren, our government has taken many steps to address the problem. The government has taken a number of measures to restructure the education system and orient it towards development,” he said.

The minister said the government had received numerous requests to open English-speaking schools in the state and a final decision would only be made after extensive discussion with stakeholders.

“The government still thinks its decision should benefit thousands of people, not just one individual. He always supports such initiatives which are taken for the welfare and development of people,” he said.
