Kyrgyz Ministry of Education plans transition to 12-year school education from 2023
AKIPRESS.COM – The Ministry of Education and Science is considering several options for the transition to a 12-year school education system since 2023, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nadira Jusupbekova told a press conference in Bishkek.
Discussions will take place with experts in April, May. “We consider the most painless transformation,” she said.
The 2022 school year will start as before with pre-primary classes, she said.
“Children will be prepared for learning in grade one during the transition: socialization, training of learning skills such as the ability to listen and ask questions. Every school should prepare children through play. Lessons more serious ones will start from the second year, when the real learning process will begin,” said the Deputy Minister of Education.
Parents think their children will study until they are 18-19, she added. But they will graduate as before at 17, she added.
The 12-year education aims to enable students to get a vocation after graduating.
“We must not harm students and teachers. The transformation will be painless and will not start in 2022. We are developing steps and learning materials for the transition. Deputy Minister Jusupbekova.
