Mana Ooru Mana Badi set to transform public education system: Puvvada

Khammam: Mana Ooru Mana Badi- Mana Basti Mana Badi presented by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was to transform the public education system in Telangana, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has said.

The program amply demonstrates how a state could achieve development in all areas if it were led by a chief minister who fully understood the needs of the people. Chandrashekhar Rao has pledged to give a boost to the education and health sectors in the state, he noted.

The minister launched development works worth Rs. 8.91 lakh at a senior primary school at Rankya thanda in Raghunathpalem mandal and Rs 13.30 lakhs worth of works at Rotary Nagar Government Primary School in Khammam Saturday covering 12 program components.

Ajay Kumar called on villagers, school management committees, alumni associations and NRIs to become partners and make collective efforts to make the schools in the villages ideal schools to fulfill the Chief Minister’s dream to develop public schools on an equal footing with business schools.

The Mana Ooru Mana Badi scheme was being implemented with an estimated cost of Rs 7,280 crore for the development of around 26,000 schools in the state in three phases. The program heralds a new era in the public education system, he said.

English would be introduced in the following academic year. The government was careful to make English and Telugu textbooks easier for students to understand. Teachers would be trained during the summer holidays, so they could hone their skills and train students.

Chandrashekhar Rao was working hard to achieve a golden age for the people of Telangana by bringing about a complete change in all walks of life. Last year, the government spent Rs 30,000 crore on social assistance and this year Rs 90,000 crore has been allocated for the purpose, the minister explained.

District Collector VP Gautham informed that a total of 426 schools were selected in the first phase. ZP President L Kamal Raju wanted teachers to strive for the goals of Mana Ooru Mana Badi.

SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar, Agricultural Market Committee Chairman D Lakshmi Prasanna, DEO S Yadaiah, DRDO Vidyachandana, R&B EE Shyam Prasad and Panchayat Raj EE Srinivasa Rao were present.
