Manipur CM launches new flagship program to transform education system

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday launched STAR Education Manipur, a new flagship program of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by the coalition government to transform Manipur’s education system through excellence in education. teaching and learning in classrooms, resulting in radical learning gains.

The program would deploy innovative technology and a data-driven platform, combined with high-quality learning materials, effective training and ongoing coaching for teachers and school leaders, as well as technology-based support teams.

State Education Minister S Rajen Singh; commissioner (education) M Harekrishna; Secretary to Chief Minister N Geoffrey; Director, Education (S) L Nandakumar; among others were present during the launch function at Imphal.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Singh said the motto of the current education system has shifted from the previous vision of getting a government job to a broader vision of job creation and service to the nation.

Stating that the new initiative will also help teachers in better ways, he said the state government since its formation has done things differently to better serve its people.

Earlier, the government launched the School Fagathansi Mission with an ambitious goal to give new impetus to the improvement of public schools both in terms of physical infrastructure and manpower.

In his speech, Singh said that the education system in the state has improved significantly after the successful implementation of the Fagathansi school mission. To help teachers take online courses for higher education, recording studios have been set up in different colleges, he added.

The STAR Education Manipur program would help teachers and students in their teaching and learning process and also play a key role in developing students’ knowledge.

During the day, Chief Minister Biren Singh also released a flyer on STAR Education Manipur and handed over teachers’ computers and school management smart phones to the Director of Education (S).
