Ministry of Education event brings together students and diplomats from Arab countries

Deputy Prime Minister Bisher Al Khasawneh, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais on Saturday attended a ceremony organized for Arab ambassadors and cultural attaches residing in the Kingdom and Arab students student in Jordan.

The event, titled “You are the Ambassadors of Jordan”, was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, in cooperation with the Ministries of Tourism and Youth, as well as the Jordanian Tourism Board, reported the Jordanian news agency Petra.

Addressing the gathering, Owais said the ministry considers alumni of Jordanian higher education institutions, with the knowledge and memories they acquired during their studies in the Kingdom, as the ambassadors of the Kingdom for their countries.

As celebrations commemorating Jordan’s 76th Independence Day draw near, the ministry reiterates its concern to uphold the “distinguished” reputation of the Kingdom’s higher education sector, Owais said, highlighting the ministry’s efforts to mitigate all the obstacles faced by Arab students in Jordan.

He also pointed out that the ministry will make this meeting regular, adding that in cooperation with its partners, the ministry is organizing a football league in the courts of the University of Jordan for teams from Arab communities, in addition to others. activities that could be used for students to advertise.

A total of 38,000 non-Jordanian students from 106 countries are studying in Jordan, according to ministry figures for the 2021/2022 academic year.
