Monument Books donates almost 18,000 books to the Ministry of Education

Monument Books has donated nearly 18,000 books to the Ministry of Education. The books will be used to strengthen Cambodia’s education system, especially in English skills and especially in rural areas.

Meng Hieng, CEO of Monument Books, said, “The Kingdom of Cambodia and the world have suffered a severe crisis caused by the devastating Covid-19 pandemic.

Hieng also said that in 2021, during the Covid crisis, Monument Books donated more than 18,000 English-language books to schools in Siem Reap and Kampong Cham provinces, as well as organizations.
such as World Vision Cambodia Children’s Fund and the
Australian Embassy.

“I am donating these 17,673 English books worth about $100,000 to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to help needy schools,” Hieng said.

Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, said he appreciated the donation of textbooks to the ministry. All the books will help strengthen education in the country.

Naron added that books donated by Monument Books will be donated to Kampong Cham province and Sisowath High.
School in Phnom Penh.

“It is also part of how ministry stakeholders are involved in building English proficiency in schools in Cambodia.

“The ministry will invite Monument Books to deliver the books to schools soon,” Naron said.

Hieng added that all those books that were donated to the ministry were high quality imported English texts. The books will help students learn English and strengthen their knowledge of
