MVOTA organizes trials for the Legion

Tryouts for the 2023 Zanesville Post Legion Junior and Senior Teams will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, August 28 at Gant Stadium.

Interested players cannot turn 19 before January 1, 2023. Heath Watton will be the head coach of the Junior Legion team and Pat Corder will coach the Senior Legion team. Any questions can be directed to Coach Corder at 740-819-6080.

John Glenn CC organizes a fun race for young people

The John Glenn Cross Country Team is having a fun one-mile youth run at 5 p.m. on September 27. Children from kindergarten to grade 6 from any school can participate and the runners will be divided into age categories.

Registration is $10 per child and can be completed prior to the race at Larry Miller Middle School in New Concord. Proceeds are donated to JG Track and Cross Country Boosters. For more information, contact Coach Amy Tooms at [email protected].

Hunter education courses coming in September.

A Hunter Education course will be held September 9 and 10 at the Zanesville Christian Ministry, located at 545 Richey Road.

The course will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on September 9 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 10. The course is free and anyone interested should pre-register at WildOhio.Gov.
