The National Cybersecurity Agency trains 15,000 people in cybercrime

The National Cyber ​​Security Agency, represented by the National Department of Cyber ​​Excellence, said on Monday it has trained 15,000 employees of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education who have joined the cybercrime prevention training program since its launch.

The training initiatives and programs aim to increase the efficiency of workers and specialists in the field of information technology (IT) and security in the government agencies of the State of Qatar and to raise awareness among the public employee without information systems specialists. The National Cybersecurity Agency feels the importance of spreading a culture of security awareness in all strata of society to achieve its objectives of maintaining, organizing national cybersecurity and promoting and protecting vital interests. of the state in the face of cyber threats.

For her part, the Director of the National Department of Cyber ​​Excellence, Dalal Al Aqeedi, said that the number of beneficiaries of the training program for the prevention of cybercrime of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has reached more than 15,000 so far. This included 591 headteacher trainees, 10,175 teacher trainees and 2,638 administrator trainees.

She explained that more than 12,000 trainees have successfully completed the program out of a total of 15,000 trainees enrolled in the cybercrime prevention training program.

In turn, the director of the Center for Pedagogical Training and Development of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Hissa Al Aali, confirmed that the ministry is keen on the participation of its employees in the training program for the prevention of cybercrime and to ensure that the percentage of success is high among those who have joined the training program for the prevention of cybercrime among school leaders, teachers and administrators.

She indicated that the Ministry has strengthened its internal policies in general and the Center for Training and Pedagogical Development in particular. The follow-up process carried out by the Center for Training and Educational Development of trainees has contributed to increasing the percentage of those who pass the cybercrime prevention training program. Steps are also being taken to implement the program in public schools, she noted.

The National Cybersecurity Agency seeks to build national cybersecurity skills through training and development to effectively deal with cyberattacks if they occur, as each person is assigned a role to play in maintaining security and safety of the country and provide a secure digital environment.

The idea of ​​the training program for the prevention of cybercrime was launched after testing 95 entities of the State of Qatar to know their capacities and skills in the field of cybercrime and to ensure their ability to protect themselves. cyber attacks.
