Ministry of Education receives Shs. 500 million donation from Harris International

Hariss International Limited, the producers of Riham products, donated yesterday UGX 500 million shillings to the Ministry of Education and Sports.

This followed a call to action from the First Lady and Minister for Education and Sport; Ms. Janet Museveniasking entities to support the government before the reopening and recovery of the sector.

The check was delivered by the Director of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Chadi K. Ahmad at Jean Chrysostome Muyingo; Minister of Higher Education, and Joyce Moriku Kaducu; Minister of State for Primary Educationduring a meeting at the offices of the Ministry of Education in Kampala.

Dr. Chrysostome Muyingo appreciated all entities that contributed and assured the public that the support given will be directed and used for the purposes for which it was given.

“Like Haris Internationalit was a great opportunity for us since transforming education has always been at the heart of our operations. We are confident that the amount we contributed will facilitate the recovery of the education sector which had been in lockdown for two years,” Mr. Chadi said.

“We therefore encourage other cooperations to also join the cause in supporting Uganda’s struggling education system.”
